Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a category of synthetic chemical that are used to make products waterproof. In the quest to make outdoor gear that can withstand the toughest adventures in the harshest environments, the outdoor industry has relied on these harmful solutions for far too long. Here we take a deep dive into PFAS use and look to the future of waterproof outdoor gear.

In September, three teams of our Mountain People took on the epic Hike Bike Paddle challenge in aid of the Youth Adventure Trust. Not only did they have to conquer a mighty triathlon, they had to face the wrath of Storm Agnes that was battering the west coast- and everyone else that was caught in its path.

We rely on our athlete ambassadors to not only test our kit in the world’s toughest environments, but to be our eyes and ears on the health of the planet. In summer 2022, Dutch mountain guide and Rab athlete, Roeland van Oss, summited all 82 4000m peaks in the Alps - in just 78 days.
