All in Ice Fest

“The festival transcends the mere thrill of ice climbing; it’s a platform for exchanging stories, learning from one another, and embracing the rich tapestry of cultures that paints our outdoor community in vibrant colors.”

The All In Ice Fest held its annual gathering last month. Based in Ouray Ice Park Colorado, the festival is centred around the experience of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA2S+ communities, and adaptive climbers. It’s a platform to elevate and highlight marginalised groups and create opportunities to develop as climbers.

“The All In Ice Festival is a precious gem in the realm of outdoor adventures. It is a gathering that, with each passing year, manages to surpass expectations. Few spaces in the outdoor world can match the welcoming, exciting, and loving atmosphere that permeates this event.

Rab played a key role in ensuring accessibility for all—whether participants were returning with a full kit or partaking for the first time and in need of gear, we demoed out our cozy belay jackets, stretchy waterproof shells, and alpine packs. Our sponsorship went to easing the cost of housing, which ensured a comfortable place to rest after all of the day’s festivities.

What sets All In apart becomes evident as you step into its midst. The organizers craft an intentional, vulnerable, and safe space—fostering an environment where participants can not only learn and grow, but also connect authentically with their peers. In contrast to its larger counterpart, the Ouray Ice Festival, with its hundreds of wonderful attendees, All In’s intimate setting provides a unique opportunity to forge relationships that extend far beyond the festival grounds.

The festival transcends the mere thrill of ice climbing; it’s a platform for exchanging stories, learning from one another, and embracing the rich tapestry of cultures that paints our outdoor community in vibrant colors.

If the chance to attend the All In Ice Festival presents itself in your future, seize it! It’s more than an adventure; it’s a profound journey into the heart of a community that not only embraces diversity but celebrates it, recognizing that our collective strength lies in our unique and varied perspectives.”
